Dalian Wanda donates RMB 1 million to Sanya Charity Federation

Grand opening of Sanya Haitang Bay Conrad Hotel and Wanda Sanya Haitang Bay Doubletree by Hilton Resort Hotel.

Dalian Wanda invested close to RMB 2 billion to develop and build the six-star Sanya Haitang Bay Conrad Hotel, and the five-star Wanda Sanya Haitang Bay Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, and held the grand opening of these two hotels at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel on Dec 28th.   

At the opening ceremony, opening speeches were given respectively by Mayor Yong Wang - Deputy Secretary of Sanya Municipal Committee, Jin Yue – Secretary for Haitang Bay Working Committee, and Standing Committee of Sanya Municipal Committee, Chairman Jianlin Wang, and Martin Rick, President of Hilton Hotels Asia Pacific Management Group.  

Chairman Jianlin Wang extended a warm welcome to over 300 distinguished guests. After the Chairman had gave an overview of Wanda's development status, he introduced the Sanya Wanda Haitang Bay Hotel. The Chairman indicated that Sanya Wanda Hotel has initiated the precedent for the Wanda Resort, which is an important first attempt, and he wishes that through the efforts of all parties, the two hotels of Sanya Wanda Haitang Bay will march towards success. The Chairman also indicated that Dalian Wanda will continue to support the development of Hainan Islands as an international tourist destination.

Mayor Yong Wang, also Deputy Secretary of Sanya Municipal Committee, indicated that the Sanya City Government and the Haitang Bay Management Committee are paying close attention to the construction of Sanya Wanda Hotel. Sanya Wanda Hotel is the largest high class vacation resort project ever to be approved for work commencement since the designation of the Hainan Islands as an international tourist destination. Sanya Wanda Hotel is also the first high class hotel to be opened at Haitang Bay district in Sanya, and will also make active contributions to the development of the hotel industry to support Hainan Islands as an international tourist destination.

At the opening ceremony, Jin Yue – Secretary for Haitang Bay Working Committee and Standing Committee of the Sanya Municipal Committee, issued a "Best Contributing Enterprise to National Seashore / Haitang Bay" medal, and RMB 2 million worth of prize money. Wu Yonglong, General Manager of Sanya Wanda Hotel received the medal and prize money on behalf of the Sanya Wanda team. As per convention, Dalian Wanda donated RMB 1 million to the Sanya Charity Federation at the opening ceremony, to be used for helping the poor children receive education.

At night, a grand "Wanda Starlit Night" event was held on stage at the beach in front of Doubletree by Hilton Hotel. 
On Apr 1st 2009, construction work for the Wanda Sanya Haitang Bay project commenced. On Mar 15th 2010, the project was completed after 11 months of frenzied construction work. On Dec 20th 2010, Wanda Sanya Haitang Bay project was finally completed. After 20 months of frenzied construction work, the grand opening of Wanda Sanya Haitang Bay Project was finally held on Dec 28th 2010.
