Wanda Attends Shenzhen Cultural Fair

The Wanda Group is the only enterprise to have a pavilion in the main venue of the 8th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair that opened on May 18.

Exhibiting five cultural brands as well as its tourism and vacation projects, the Wanda Group has attracted wide public attention with its high profile.

The Wanda Group began to massively invest in cultural industries in 2005. It has entered five industries, including central cultural district, big stage show, film production and projection, entertainment chain and Chinese calligraphy and painting collection. In each of the industries, Wanda’s cultural businesses rank No.1 in China.

Wanda has invested more than $1.6 billion in cultural industries and become the nation’s largest enterprise investor in cultural industries. By the end of 2012, Wanda will have cultural revenue of $3.2 billion and become China’s largest cultural enterprise. By 2017, Wanda’s annual cultural revenue will hit $6.4 billion and become a world-class cultural enterprise.

The pioneering Wuhan Central Cultural District is located in central Wuhan, using cultural facilities as key elements. It is a world-class culture and tourism project with tourism, commercial and business functions.The project occupies 1.8 square kilometers, with an investment of $8 billion, including $1.27 billion for cultural industries. The district will have 10 cultural projects, such as a film culture theme park, Han Show Theatre and a multiplex cinema. Upon opening of all the cultural projects in 2014, Wuhan will become a global culture and tourism destination.

Wanda has set up a joint venture company in performing arts with US-based Franco Dragone Entertainment Group. With an investment of $1.6 billion, the company will create the world’s highest level of performances in Wuhan, Dalian and Sanya, and create a Chinese cultural performance brand with global influence. The Han Show Theatre in Wuhan and the Dai Show Theatre in Xishuangbanna have started construction.
