Wanda chairman vows to build 7 tourism cities

Wanda Group plans to build seven to eight “Wanda cities” in China and some overseas countries, Wang Jianlin, chairman of the group, told the reporter of Beijing-based Morning Post recently.

The so-called “Wanda Tourism City” is not the replica of Wanda plaza, Wang noted, explaining that each tourism city will have its unique characteristic and will have a commercial center covering 90,000-100,000 square meters.

In addition to Beijing, Nanchang, Dalian and Harbin, Wanda is exploring sites in Wuxi, Guangzhou and some localities in Southwest and Northwest China.

Taking the Harbin project for example, Wang believes the tourism cities will covers their costs in six to seven years.
