14 Wanda Plazas launch free Wifi service

14 Wanda Plaza's across China began providing free Wi-Fi service to customers as of November 15. It is expected that all Wanda Plaza's will be equipped with free Wifi access by March 2014, in an effort to boost customer experience.

It is reported that Wanda Group will invest billions of yuan to launch Wi-Fi in all of its Wanda Plaza's by March 2014. By then, shoppers in over 60 cities across China will experience the benefits of free internet access at any Wanda Plaza. 

The Wi-Fi roll out plan is a key part of Wanda's O2O model, which entails retrofitting all Wanda Plaza's to become more high tech and consumer friendly. The key part of O2O is combining offline and online user experience in order to create a direct bridge between B2C and further enabling retailers to diversify their marketing tools.
