In the January-July period, gross box-office revenue jumped 44.6% year on year to RMB 3.6 billion; total moviegoers increased 42.8% to 84.18 million.
Thanks to solid business operations, persistent innovations and maneuvering in the capital market, Wanda Cinema Line has solidified its leadership in China’s movie theater chains market, staying on top for six consecutive years as China’s largest movie theater chain operator by box-office revenue, market share and audience number.
With a market capitalization of over RMB100 billion, Wanda Cinema Line is now the world’s most valuable cinema chain operator, equivalent to the top three U.S. counterparts combined (Regal, AMC and CINEMARK). Remarkable business achievements, however, will not slow its pace of expansion. By the end of 2015, it is expected to have operated at least 220 cinemas. With strong support from the capital market, Wanda Cinema Line is embracing a new chapter of rapid expansion.
