The 4th batch of ‘China’s Future Soccer Stars’ arrived at Atletico de Madrid for training
25.09.2015Recently, the fourth batch of 30 “China’s Future Soccer Stars” arrived at Atletico de Madrid in Spain.
Three years ago, expert youth coaches from Spain have selected three batches of “China’s Future Soccer Stars”, totalling 90 teen soccer players, for a three-year training programme in Spain at three first-division soccer clubs such as Atletico de Madrid. With the fourth batch joining the programme, the total number of Chinese teen soccer players sponsored by Wanda for overseas training reaches 120.
Meanwhile, 21 players in the first batch of “China’s Future Soccer Stars”, who have completed their three-year programme, have also been qualified to continue their training for another three years at Atletico de Madrid. They will be spending the critical three years of their development years in Spain until they reach adulthood at the age of 18.
With the successful experience and impact of the previous three years, the fourth batch of teen players have successfully gone through the national competition, and starting from 19 July, the 30 most outstanding 12/13-year-old players received a 40-day special training at Wanda College under the Wanda Group in preparation for their overseas training. At Wanda College, the children received training in different areas such as soccer, language, mental, and psychological training. Taking reference to suggestions from overseas experts, Wanda has invited excellent Spanish cultural instructors, psychological counsellors, and a team of professional soccer coaches led by well-known national soccer player, Shang Qing, to conduct training, so that the children can assimilate and transition into local life smoothly as soon as they arrive in Spain. A first-class, international-standard turf field and excellent accommodation are offered at Wanda College for the training of the teen players.
The Club Manager at Atletico de Madrid said that they are committed to allocating the strongest team for Wanda to ensure the best conditions in learning, living, training, and competition are provided to Wanda’s “China’s Future Soccer Stars”, so that these children will have the same opportunity as Atletico de Madrid in raising the level of their soccer skills.
