300,000 tourists flock to Xishuangbanna International Resort during Golden Week

During the 7-day national golden week holiday, 300,000 visitors have been recorded at the Wanda Xishuangbanna International Resort, which was just opened for business on 26 September, a record high for Xishuangbanna. 60,000 tourists visited the theme park, out of which, over 80% were independent travellers. Almost all shows were fully booked at the 1,200-seat Xishuangbanna Dai Show Theatre and hardly any group guest rooms were left at the resort hotels, while the Wanda Plaza was packed. Wanda Xishuangbanna International Resort has become one of the hottest tourist destinations in Yunnan.

Wanda Xishuangbanna International Resort is Wanda’s third large-scale tourist project in China, spanning 5.3km², with a total investment of RMB16 billion-the largest investment of any cultural and tourism project in Southwest China. A large-scale, world-class theme park with local Xishuangbanna characteristics, first-class international theatre shows, a high-end resorts, a lakeside bar street, as well as a Wanda Plaza and an international hospital can be found at the Resort, taking the development of both Xishuangbanna as well as tourism in Yunnan to a historical high.
