Wanda Changbaishan International Resort selected as among the 1st Batch of state-level tourist resorts

China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) published a list of the first batch of state-level tourist resorts on October 9. A total of 17 tourist resorts were selected, with Wanda Changbaishan International Resort being the only resort in northeast China on the list.

Opened in July 2012, Changbaishan International Resort is the first tourism project opened by Wanda Group. Occupying 21 square kilometers and with total investment of Rmb23 billion, Changbaishan International Resort has Asia's largest ski resort, a world-class forest golf course, high-end resort hotels, and tourism towns, with world-class facilities. Changbaishan International Resort, a project representing the upgrade of China's tourism from sightseeing to vacation, has become a world-class holiday destination.

By introducing state-level tourist resorts, CNTA aims to promote and guide the tourism industry to transform from sightseeing-style to leisure- and vacation -style, making state-level tourist resorts another golden feature of the Chinese tourism industry after 5A-grade scenic spots. After the assessment work was launched in the first half of this year, CNTA received applications from over 60 qualified resorts for building state-level tourist resorts and finally selected the first batch of 17 state-level tourist resorts.
