Each division champion will be determined by each club’s top five race performances at Hefei. For the 2017 Ironman Asia TriClub Championship, TriClubs will qualify by finishing in the top 3 of their division at one of the designated seven qualifying events throughout Asia in 2016 and 2017.
The Regional TriClub Championship series was launched in 2014 building upon the success of the global TriClub program. The first TriClub Championship took place at Ironman Australia. In September 2015, the inaugural European TriClub Championship took place at Ironman 70.3 Pula, Croatia. The inaugural Pan American TriClub Championship will take place at Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico on 20 March 2016.
With the addition of the Asia TriClub Championship in Hefei, it is expected that the sport of Ironman triathlon will soon sweep Asia, particularly China at large.
