Wanda signs construction contract with Brookfield Multiplex for Gold Coast Jewel

On April 6, Wanda Ridong officially signed a contract with Brookfield Multiplex Group, entrusting it to be the builder of Jewel, a landmark project in the surfers' paradise Gold Coast.

The signing ceremony was held in Palazzo Versace hotel, Gold Coast. The delegation from Wanda Group's headquarters in Beijing arrived at Gold Coast, met the senior management of Brookfield Multiplex Group and signed the contract in the signing ceremony. Ms. Jackie Trad, Acting Premier of Queensland, as well as Ms. Kate Jones, the Minister for Tourism and Major Events of Queensland, attended the signing ceremony. Other attendees included Zhao Yongchen, Counsel General of China in Brisbane, and Ms. Donna Gates, the Deputy Mayor of Gold Coast.

Chen Guocai, Vice President of Wanda Commercial Properties, said that, as the biggest property development enterprise globally, Wanda Group would create this masterpiece in Australia's construction history together with Australia's biggest construction enterprise. "Jewel will become the most high-end residential property and hotel development project Australia has ever seen and will bring unparalleled luxurious experience. Wanda Group is looking forward to creating this masterpiece with Brookfield Multiplex Group."

Jewel, whose total investment is near AUD 1 billion, is Gold Coast's only beachfront five-star hotel and apartment project, and also the city’s first beachfront resort in the recent 30 years. The three magnificent towers of Jewel will meander through 130 meters of beach and include 512 luxury apartments, one five-star hotel within 169 rooms, high-end commercial, retail and dining spaces, and 816 underground parking spaces.
