Wanda's Film "Go Away Mr. Tumor” Wins Two Huabiao Awards

The annual China Huabiao Film Awards, one of China’s three main film awards, held its 16th awarding ceremony in Beijing on June 24. The film "Go Away Mr. Tumor" won the Young Filmmaker Creation Award and Bai Baihe took home the "Best Actress Award" for her leading role in this film.

Wanda Cultural Industry Group senior president assistant and Wanda Pictures general manager Zhao Fang, film director Han Yan, leading actress Bai Baihe and scriptwriter Yuan Yuan and Zhang Weizhong attended the ceremony.

"Go Away Mr. Tumor" was one of 2015’s phenomenal Chinese films, receiving rave reviews from young audiences and representing China’s Oscars entry for best foreign language film. A judging panel said of the film, "True creation always comes from the soul. ’Go Away Mr. Tumor', with its refreshing film language, rhythmic means and diversified style, explores the innovation course of Chinese film."

The film’s two Huabiao awards closely followed other big wins for “Go Away Mr. Tumor”, including the 11th Chinese American Film Festival’s “Golden Angel Award,” the China Film Directors’ Guild’s "Actress of the Year," the 6th Beijing International Film Festival’s "Tiantan Award 2016 Best Visual Effects Award," and the 23th Beijing College Student Film’s “Best Actress Award.”
