26.08.2016

Introducing Wanda’s newest cultural attraction – The Hefei Wanda City is the first Huizhou culture theme park in the world. A tribute to Anhui Province as much as it is a place for people to unwind and enjoy themselves, Hefei Wanda City is a cultural and amusement wonderland. The park is located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui province, China, a core metropolis of the Wanjiang region, with more than 2,200 years of history. Hefei has been one of the most significant historic and cultural cities since China’s first dynasty, the Qin Dynasty.

The park itself is set on 38 hectares of land, and adjoins Lake Chao, the fifth largest freshwater lake in China, and benefits from a scenic natural environment with plenty of fresh air, and convenient access to intercity transportation networks. There are indoor and outdoor sections of the waterpark, so that the fun can be enjoyed all-year round. There is also a high-tech movie park that will house a 3D motion theatre where visitors can experience a 3D view of Anhui's most breath taking scenic landscapes.
The park exists to cater to all ages. Children can satisfy their curiosities via interesting adventured-filled facilities. While the big kids can enjoy many thrilling and exciting rides. For the elderly, there are wonderful stage performances; and families can revel in the abundant water game facilities. Dutch design firm Jora Vision Designs was strongly influenced by the local Hui style of architecture. Divided into six speci?c areas, Jora Vision came up with a speci?c storyline for each area, where fairy tales, art, history and legends meet, translating Anhui Province’s heritage into a full leisure experience.

In the ?rst area, Classic Anhui, the beauty of ancient Anhui architecture is celebrated. Where the most representative building also the largest in the park, Hui Meng House, pays tribute to the Hui architectural style of black brick, white tiles and the ‘horse-head’ wall. The second zone, The Battle of Feishui, visitors are taken on a journey through the epic Battle of the Fei River, a fierce naval battle considered a major turning point in the history of China. Butter?y Dreamland, the third area, is a happy wonderland garden ?lled with human-like animals and insects. The fourth area, Lost Chaozhou, visitors are taken on a futuristic discovery of the remnants of the sunken city of Chaozhou. The ?fth area, Happy Water Town, is dominated by a lake especially created for the park and features a special waterfront village. One of the most attractive facilities in the park is White Dragon Triumphs in the Skies, inspired by a famous local fable. The lake not only enriches the natural views of White Dragon Island, but also provides a perfect stage for the acousto-optic fireworks show, Big Lake Show. Finally, the sixth zone is Opera Garden and focuses on Anhui’s famous Opera and theatrical stories. The performing arts show, which will be the largest in Eastern China, will fully display Hefei's local culture.

"Each cultural tourism city has its own unique characteristics," said Wang Jianlin, Chairman of Wanda Group, "the Hefei Wanda Cultural Tourism City fuses world class design and technology with a blend of local cultural and historical elements that fully embody Anhui's culture."

The core of the park is fun and entertainment. Returning to the giggles of youth, this is a place where locals and tourists can come to escape the world outside and experience the rush of death-defying roller coasters, the thrill of swinging from the sky, or the comfort of the sounds of traditional Anhui performances.
Hefei Wanda City is expected to open in September, 2016.
