The BFG premiers at Beijing Wanda Cinema as Spielberg recounts his intention for shooting the film

Steven Spielberg, director of the film The BFG, arrived at Beijing Wanda Cinema on October 10 to share his world of fantasy with the audience. The film The BFG is an adaptation of Roald Dahl's story of the same name, The BFG, which tells of a young orphaned girl, Sophie, who was taken to Giant Country by a "Big Friendly Giant" who loves to collect good dreams. Becoming familiar with one another, the two fought bad giants together, and sought to protect the human world.  The film will be screened in various formats - 2D/3D/IMAX 3D - from October 14.

While speaking about the new production, Spielberg highlighted in particular, the numerous brand new technologies adopted in the film to interpret Giant Country. He hoped that the film would initiate a wonderful journey for audiences, and allow children to learn to be courageous and keep their imagination. It is also hoped that the film would also allow adults to recapture their lost childlike innocence amid the stress of everyday living. Spielberg said outright that giants are not superheroes, and the film is for those with childlike innocence.

On hearing that he was referred to as being "synonymous with Hollywood", Spielberg said that Hollywood represented the entire film production industry. He was very happy to be a member of film production in Hollywood, and was proud of it - "To me, Hollywood is me, and I am Hollywood. I go to Hollywood to tell my story. This has always been my dream since I was young."
