Danzhai Children to Tell World China Story of Poverty Alleviation

At the opening game of the World Cup that will draw the attention of hundreds of millions of people, we will see six flag-bearers from Danzhai county, a small town in the mountains in southwest China.

To fulfill its CSR, Wanda Group paired with Danzhai county in Guizhou province for poverty alleviation. It invests immensely to develop cultural tourism in the county and the Danzhai Wanda Village provides nearly 1,400 job opportunities, so that many local children are no longer left-behind children.

Meanwhile, as the top sponsor for FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, Wanda Group has the exclusive right of recruiting FIFA World Cup flag-bearers, and gives all the six spots for the opening game to Danzhai. The six selected flag-bearers, all with unique skills, stood out from 3,870 Danzhai children. During the finals of flag-bearer selection in Danzhai, they showcased their skills in Lusheng performing, golden pheasant dance, wax printing, martial arts, public speaking and English. The six Danzhai youths will appear at the opening game of World Cup Russia this summer, displaying their passion for football and telling the world the China Story of poverty alleviation.
