Dalian Wanda Group Delivers 2018 FIFA World Cup to FIFA and Fans Through Its Subsidiary

16.06.2018

June 15th, 2018, Beijing – FIFA Partner Dalian Wanda Group is delivering a top quality world sporting event at the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ to FIFA and football fans in China and all over the world, not only as a top-tier sponsor, but also as host broadcaster and marketing services provider through its subsidiary Infront, with a team of over 3,300 experts spread across all 11 cities and 12 stadiums in Russia, looking after all 64 matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™.

Infront, a Wanda Sports company, is one of the leading sports marketing companies, as well as one of the largest sports media production and live broadcasting companies in the world. In 2015, Wanda Group acquired Infront and integrated it into Wanda Sports Group, which highlighted the commitment and investment Wanda had in the sports segment, with Infront as the driving player.

This year, Infront works with FIFA as host broadcaster of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™. In 2018, over 1,000 ready-to-broadcast features including promos, highlights and programmes as well as over 1,000 hours of footage from all 64 games will be produced by Infront’s subsidiary Host Broadcast Services (HBS). In each of the 12 stadiums, 37 cameras will capture every angle of every match.

In order to deliver the World Cup excitement to the millions of football fans in China, Infront has negotiated the contract with CCTV, the predominant state television broadcaster in China, on behalf of FIFA for the media rights to the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ (as well as the 2022 World Cup™ and other FIFA Events). This means every game, every scoring and every memorable moment at the World Cup™ is guaranteed for the TV audience in China by Wanda Group.

Infront was instrumental in signing up Wanda, its parent company, as FIFA Partner, where Wanda joined other top global brands in the top tier of FIFA’s partnership structure. This year at the FIFA World Cup™, Wanda Group has implemented a wide variety of sponsorship activation programmes including the domestic and international promotion of Wanda's Flag Bearer right where it provides 384 children from all over the world with an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take to the field at FIFA World Cup™ match.

Infront also manages the exclusive sale of all television, radio, broadband internet and mobile broadband rights to the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ across 26 Asian territories, as well as the distribution of all FIFA archive footage, including film and television coverage from previous FIFA World Cups™ and other FIFA events.

Talking about the role it played in the World Cup, Philippe Blatter, Vice-Chairman of Wanda Sports Group and President and CEO of Infront, said, "The focus for us is to once more deliver a top-quality event to our key partner FIFA as well as to all our partners. Through the work of our team, we want to contribute to efforts uniting sports fans across the world and help generate great emotion and passion. Thanks to Infront's involvement we are able to show every glimpse of this fantastic tournament to the planet."
