Wanda Group won China Charity Award for the third time

The 2008 Philanthropy Conference was held at the Great Hall of the People. During the conference, an awarding ceremony was held by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to present the China Charity Award, the highest honor in China for the charity cause. Chairman Wang Jianlin of Wanda Group won the title of “most loving personal charity donator”. This was the third time he won this title. He had won the title in 2005 and 2006. Wanda became the only one of nearly 7 million enterprises nationwide to win this title for three times.

Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of China, Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, and Hui Liangyu, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State, cordially received Wang Jianlin and other winners of the China Charity Award. Wang Jianlin received the award from Vice Premier Hui Liangyu on behalf of the 328 award winners.
In the afternoon, Wang Jianlin attended the China Charity Forum sponsored by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the China Youth Development Foundation and the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation. He delivered a special lecture at the forum, winning extensive recognition from the participants.
It is learnt that in the earthquake relief operation in 2008, Wanda Group made 105-million-yuan cash donations and became one of the most generous corporate donators among China’s private enterprises.
