08.12.2008The 2008 annual meeting of Chinese corporate leaders, sponsored by the Economic Daily Group and the China Entrepreneur magazine, was held in Beijing on December 6. Chairman Wang Jianlin attended the meeting and won the title of “25 most influential corporate leaders in 2008. This is the third time he had won this title.

At this annual meeting themed “Beginning of New Three Decades”, Chinese corporate leaders, economists and government officials made in-depth discussions on the greatest achievements China has made in the past three decades, the new driving force for future reforms and how China can win the optimal opportunities. Chairman Wang Jianlin was invited to attend the first theme forum after the opening ceremony and discussed the strategic challenges and responses in face of the current economic crisis with five other heavyweight guests including Liu Chuanzhi and Ning Gaoning. He offered a prescription for enterprises to tide over the economic “winter”: the entrepreneurs should increase their confidence and the enterprises should control their costs and actively carry out reforms and innovations.

On the evening of December 6, Wanda Group hosted a film show at the Wanda International Film Center for all the entrepreneurs attending the annual meeting, at which the latest film Mei Lanfang was screened.
On the evening of December 7, the sponsors of the annual meeting held a grand awarding ceremony, at which Wang Jianlin, Ma Yun, Li Ning and other entrepreneurs were granted the title of “25 most influential corporate leaders in 2008”. The annual meeting selected the “top 10 economists making greatest contributions in the past three decades” to allow the thinkers to share the honor with the practicers.
This was the seventh annual meeting of Chinese entrepreneurs. The meeting is a top-level platform for government officials, illustrious business people and academics to exchange ideas. The “25 most influential corporate leaders” selected by the annual meetings have won wide public recognition.
