Tianjin Hedong Wanda Plaza Holds Ground Breaking Ceremony

Tianjin Hedong Wanda Plaza, the second commercial property project of Dalian Wanda Group in Tianjin, held the ground breaking ceremony on the morning of May 11. Officials of Hedong District and Tianjin attended the ceremony. Mr. Wang Jianlin, standing member of the CPPCC, Vice Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce and Chairman of Dalian Wanda Group were present at the ceremony together with senior executives of the group.

The ground breaking ceremony started at 9:00 a.m. in a festive atmosphere among crowded people at the site. Mr. Wang Jianlin, standing member of the CPPCC, Vice Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce and Chairman of Dalian Wanda Group, and Mr. Zhao Shangwu, Vice Secretary of Hedong CPC Committee and Governor of Hedong Government, addressed the ceremony successively. Officials opened the ceremony and broke ground for the project, marking kickoff of the Tianjin Hedong Wanda Plaza Project.

Tianjin Hedong Wanda Plaza was approved in March this year as one of the third generation urban building complexes developed by Dalian Wanda Group in recent years. Tianjin Hedong Wanda Plaza plans to invite 8 anchor stores and over 30 chain stores of international and domestic brands, including a world first-class five-star ten-screen Wanda cinema, Vanchain Department Store, Sport 100, KTV Entertainment Center, Weider Tera Gym, Happy Valley Children’s Ranch, restaurants and over 200 retail stores, and also plans to provide Class A office space. The project, with a total investment of almost RMB5 billion, will be completed and open for operation at the end of 2010. The project will offer over 10,000 jobs for the local community and pay nearly RMB100 million taxes, help adjacent areas to achieve a significantly higher level of commercial activities and become a new urban business center in Hedong District.
