Wang Jianlin attends FIFA Congress

Wanda Group Chairman Wang Jianlin attended the 65th FIFA Congress at the invitation of FIFA President Sepp Blatter and General Secretary Gerome Valcke, in Zurich, Switzerland on May 28.
Mr. Wang was the only Chinese businessman invited to the congress, showing an unprecedented level of courtesy by FIFA towards Chinese football.
During the congress, Wang Jianlin held meetings with Sepp Blatter, President of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), and Jerome Valcke, Secretary General of FIFA.
Blatter promised strong support from both FIFA and himself towards developing football in China. He believes Wanda's acquisition of Infront will positively influence the football in China. He also gave a confident nod of approval to China's bid to host the Winter Olympics and vowed to strongly support China’s bid.
After the meeting, Wang Jianlin had lunch with German football legend Franz Beckenbauer. He also met with Confederation of African Football President Issa Hayatou and Asia Football Confederation President Sheikh Salman to talk about revitalization of Chinese football and supporting China's youth football development.
