The 16th annual Forbes Global CEO Conference opens on November 29 in Jakarta, gathering some 400 of the world’s top business leaders. Wanda Group Chairman Wang Jianlin received the Malcolm S. Forbes Lifetime Achievement Award at the conference, becoming the only Chinese mainland entrepreneur to receive this award.

Established in 2006 by Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media, the award is presented to honor an individual’s lifetime of entrepreneurial achievement. Previous winners include Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helú, Wal-Mart Chairman S. Robson Walton and Li Ka-shing, chairman of CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd and Hutchison Whampoa Ltd.

In the presentation speech, Forbes said:”This is a man of decision and forward thinking who embodies a remarkable era of global ambition and wealth creation in China. He possesses a real spirit of entrepreneurism which has helped to serve the needs and wants of other people, both in the commercial marketplace, and the field of philanthropy.”
